CASA Advocate Training Schedule

09_CASA_433_LOCASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) of South Central KY, I c. is a non-profit agency dedicated to preventing and eliminating further trauma to children. CASA provides support, advocacy, and intervention for abused, neglected, and dependent children in South Central Kentucky’s Family Court Systems.  A CASA volunteer is a court appointed, trained and committed adult who ensures that each child’s individual needs remain a priority in an over-burdened child welfare system. For more information, check out our website:  www.CASAofSCK.org

Our next 30 hour CASA advocate training schedule is set to take place on the following dates and times. Please note that this will be our only Saturday training for for 2016.

Chapter 1 Introduction Saturday, February 13th, 2016 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Chapter 2 The Law Saturday, February 13th, 2016 11:30 a.m.- 2:30 p.m.
Chapter 3 Cultural Competence Saturday, February 13th, 2016 2:45 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.
Chapter 4 Understanding Families I Saturday, February 20th, 2016 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Chapter 5 Understanding Families II Saturday, February 20th, 2016 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Chapter 6 Understanding Children Saturday, February 20th, 2016 2:45 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.
Chapter 7 Communication Saturday, February 27th, 2016 8 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Chapter 8 Gathering Information Saturday, February 27th, 2016 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
Chapter 9 Reporting & Monitoring Saturday, February 27th, 2016 2:45 p.m. – 5:45 p.m.
Putting it all Together/Court Oath & Observation TBD 3 hours

Personal conflicts with these dates does not rule out this training.  You must be 21 years old to become a CASA advocate.
